Piling 2020 Conference will be held as an on-line event from 23rd to 26th March 2021

2020 has been a very challenging year for all of us, but the BGA is determined to deliver the content of the Piling 2020 conference in the best way possible in current conditions.

Although it is disappointing that, because of the ongoing problems associated with the pandemic, we are unable meet and discuss ideas face to face and have direct access to exhibitors, we are still aiming to provide an interesting and stimulating event on-line. The conference will now be held over four mornings between Tuesday 23rd March and Friday 26th March 2021

The detailed programme can be viewed here.

The British Geotechnical Association (BGA) with support from the Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) will be hosting a major international conference on Piling in Durham. This follows on from the highly successful Chalk 2018 conference organised by the BGA and is the second of a series of biennial conferences that the BGA intend to organize.

There has not been a conference related specifically to piling for a number of years but recently there have been many technical developments in the field related to offshore and onshore projects namely the development of offshore wind farms and major infrastructure projects.

With the amount of work currently underway, it is appropriate to focus on this topic and to bring together the knowledge and experience gained in recent years. We are looking to obtain input from researchers and practitioners with the aim of sharing their experiences to develop new and novel solutions.

In addition to conference papers there will be a series of authoritative keynote lectures on important aspects of Piling..
